Higher Beach Chairs from The Beach Wagon
For guests who can walk on the sand but have difficulty lowering themselves into—or standing up from—a traditional low beach chair, The Beach Wagon offers taller chairs as part of our “Closer to God” package. These chairs may also be added to other rental packages.
The idea came from a conversation with a close friend who was recovering from a broken hip and shattered pelvis following a car accident. During her recovery, sitting in a standard low-rise beach chair simply wasn’t possible. A taller chair gave her a more comfortable and manageable option.
These chairs are not mobility devices or beach wheelchairs, but they may be helpful for guests who need a higher seat. The Beach Wagon delivers rental equipment to your vacation rental; we do not provide beach delivery or setup.
Beach Wheelchair Rentals in Panama City Beach
Beach Powered Mobility specializes in mobility equipment designed to help people enjoy the beach. Available rental options may include:

Accessible Beach Locations in Panama City Beach
The following are several helpful options. Amenities, equipment availability, and access conditions may change, so contact the location before your visit.
Edward F. Hickey Jr. Park — Beach Access 22
Located on Surf Drive, Edward F. Hickey Jr. Park features an accessible beach ramp and more than 100 feet of mobility mats extending across the sand toward the shoreline. The park also includes accessible parking and shower facilities. Visit Panama City Beach identifies it as Bay County’s first fully accessible beach boardwalk.
Beach Access Points 24, 40, 56, 66, 70, 73, and M.B. Miller County Pier
These beach access points are among the city’s designated accessible beach access locations. Visitors should consult the city’s current beach access information before traveling, as conditions and amenities can change.
Russell-Fields Pier — Beach Access 56
Russell-Fields Pier, commonly called the City Pier, has three beach-accessible wheelchairs available for public use at no cost. Guests must complete a form and provide valid identification to the pier attendant. The wheelchairs are subject to availability.
An accessible ramp is located at Beach Access 56, on the west side of the ticket office. Current information is available on the City of Panama City Beach website.
St. Andrews State Park
St. Andrews State Park offers accessible areas, mobility mats, and beach wheelchairs. Service animals are permitted in accordance with applicable rules. Contact the park before arriving to confirm wheelchair availability and determine which beach or bayside area will best meet your needs.
Camp Helen State Park
Camp Helen State Park offers a peaceful natural setting with accessible amenities, including a ramp and pier. A beach wheelchair may be requested at the visitor center, subject to availability. Service animals are welcome throughout Florida State Parks.
